As I've mentioned before I'll be removing and redirecting portions of the old website and links, to the new website.

As of today most of the pages on the old site have been redirected to their corresponding new site, including the forums. The link to the old site has been removed from the front portal page.

The two sites that haven't been moved or redirect is the Sandcrawler Network (site with videos, and whatnot) I'm thinking of an update for the content, most likely it will be brought back under a new name. I think the site was important because it was more targeted towards gamers, rather than modders.

The other site in Anchorhead Brawl, its well underway although I haven't had time to finish it up lately.

That is where we stand now...

News and Announcements / Mobile forums
October 29, 2010, 10:57:33 PM
I added a modification to the forums that give me alot more control of the mobile site (and supposedly it will automaticly pull it up on the iphone, needs some testing.)

I have it pulled up on my iphone now and its alot nicer than using the old theme, but I had to manualy pull up the mobile website (already had the forums pulled up before I added the mod).

So if anyone can give it a test with an Iphone, Droid, Blackberry, Ipod Touch, or any other mobile device and let me know of any issues. If it doesn't pull up the mobile site automaticly you can click on the WAP2 link at the bottom of the page (below the Powered by SMF 2.0).

Let me know if you use the mobile forums, and if you'd like a mobile version of the actual website.

I just updated the Modders Page to give more information, before it was fine when it was just oen game but since we now support two games it needed to change. I added a sortable table and display a slur of information.

Take a look at Arramus Modders Page Or any other modders page.

Let me know if you have any issues, or if you like the old version better.

Maps in Progress / [KF] KF-Boink
September 18, 2010, 11:57:46 AM
Download here: http://umh.sandcrawler.net/index.php?page=downloads&command=view&id=220

This map is a port from the Killing Floor mod, that has been upgraded by me. Dastard is the orginal author, and all credit for ideas, textures, and meshes go to him. I upgraded pathing, upgraded zombie spawning (so they reach you faster), added two additional Traders, and trader doors for all three.

The initial port that this version is based off of was by SexyMeat.

Release Log

Beta 1 (9-18-2010)

Initial release, with new pathing, traders, zombie spawn upgrade, more weapon spawns, and a handful of other gameplay changes. Any feedback helps.

News and Announcements / Coming Soon!
September 07, 2010, 09:24:31 PM
I will very soon be adding the Update page for the downloads section. This page will allow you to update most of the information that you submitted with the map. It will also let you Remove (completly, or with a redirect) for use when needed or desired. I just need to finish up the script, and I'll let you have it.

Next I am thinking of adding a Texture Gallery, you would be able to upload your own textures, for use in games. It would be required to be a multiple of 2 (so it will work with all Unreal Engine games) and there would be a warning about adding copyright textures (from existing texture sites, or games). I am thinking it would be your standard Image gallery, with thumbnails, then a larger view (with information) and then a download link for the full resolution.

What are your thoughts on a Texture Gallery? I think it could be useful, and I want the site to grow bigger so covering this would be the next step.

Star Wars Republic Commando Chat / Server?
September 07, 2010, 01:19:56 PM
Just going to through this out there again.

I'll bring up a server, if we get the donations for one. If anyone is interested in donating just post here, and I'll get a new page for donations set up.

As far as maps for the server goes, we could run mappacks like we did last time, or a combination of mappacks and new releases. We could also run a mod (with certain requirments that I have set)

Its fixed, and now you can only vote once.

You have to be logged in to vote.

I reset the downloads that were unfairly voted up, and adjusted older ones that had multiple votes at one time or another.

I also reset the vote tracker, so everyone can vote again for all of the maps.

It was broken, then I made it worse, and now I have it shut off...

It should be back sometime this weekend.

Other broken sith on the download page includes PNG image upload apparently, and I believe thats all I've found right now... Image upload should work correctly again later today. I'll update this post when it is.

At this stage I don't think I will be able to save any of the images that were uploaded...

Fixed, but I won't be able to save images that were uploaded today. I'll be contacting you if you uploaded an image today and I will put the images in.

I found an error that wouldn't allow you to download a file when you were not signed in.

You would click the "I agree" link but nothing would happen. I fixed it so that the downloads now work.

This is a brand new website that is a merge of both RCMod and KFMod Sites.

They use the same editor so stuff from either game is relevant in the other. They do have a few specific features, such as the Squad System, or the Zombie Spawner volumes. Both games have thier own category, and a forum for asking question specific about the game. But I encourage you to post in the Modding forums still, as most of modding is relevant to both.

Enjoy, and let me know if you find any bugs.

Announcements / New Site Launch
August 15, 2010, 09:06:55 PM
We have launched a new site known as Unreal Modder's Haven. This is the merge of RCMod and KFMod site that has been in discussion for a while now, and its here.

The only thing that I don't have in yet is Community Submitted Tutorials, but they are coming soon.

Within the next month I will begin seriously phasing out the old site. Meaning the link will go dead, or be redirected to the corresponding page here.

As of today we have a new front page, that directs to the Unreal Modder's Haven website, as well as to these forums. You will probably notice that Anchorhead Brawl isn't directed to...yet. I've only had time to finish the merge, next up will be Anchorhead Brawl.

As a last note, as of August 6th this website has been in operation for Four years, the Republic Commando Mod site has been operating long of course. arramus ran the RCmod site as soon as Lucasarts released the UnrealEditor, he maintained the site for several years before handing it off to me. Its been a long trip, and we have had many different looks and systems, but I believe that this latest version is the best yet.

Today is the cut off, no more map uploads for either of the websites until after the switch.

Well actualy you can still upload them on the old site, I just won't be converting them to the new site as of now.

ETA on the new site...when its finished.

Announcements / Account Cleanup
August 10, 2010, 10:36:02 AM
So I felt like doigna  bit of cleaning here, seeing as SMF makes it very easy to do.

I just cleaned up around 201 user accounts that had never posted once, and hadn't been logged in in hundreds of days...at least I hope I didn't get anyone who just registered...

If you had an account yesterday...and you don't today then its my fault and...well you can register again...think of it as an opportunity to change your name.

Announcements / Welcome to the New forums
July 07, 2010, 08:10:04 PM
You will need to login about three times for your password conversion to be completed, this is normal, and there is nothing I can do to improve it.

Othwise you'll notice everythign from the old forums is now here, for now it will just be these forums, I'm tired of phpbb breaking down and all around unsatified with it. So now we are using Simple Machine Forums. They are easier to sue for everyone.

Soon the website will be converted to work on here as well.

Killing Floor / Interest in an event?
April 29, 2010, 08:01:18 PM
A Killing Floor event is something that has been in our minds since the start of Anchorhead Brawl. The question now is who is interested in an event, and is it enough to justify the time needed to write the scripts?

Without going into details:
- Standard Killing Floor gamemode.
- Team based gameplay
- Match-made tournament using premade groups.
- Winner decided based on wave, and time.
- One month duration

Republic Commando / Interest?
April 18, 2010, 01:42:09 PM
How many people are interested in a Republic Commando event?  We really need around 30 people interested to have a successful event.

Vote or comment...or do both.

RCMod Site and KFMod Site Merge / Downloads Section
April 11, 2010, 02:15:20 PM
So based on the recent poll that I did I'm going to go with displaying it on the Sandcrawler Network Website, but there will be a link to the downloads section on the New Mod site.

All administration stuff, such as addign a map, managing maps, and whatnot will be handeled on the Mod Site.

Downloads, voting, and viewing the map will be handeled on the Sandcrawler Network website.

We will have real and scaleable categories, instead of the fake ones that I have in place now. Meaning Republic Commando will be a category, and then there will be Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag/Assult, Single Player, and Modification categories under that.

There are a handful of features/junk that I'm removing that has almost never been used. It will make it simpiler, and easier to use. At this point there are only two. The review system, that has never been used. And the forum links, that is rarely used, I figrue that these two can just be put in other places, such as in the description of the files, or in the comment box.

I'm also adding a few things, such as the categories, and a Download agreement for non-logged in users...registered and logged in users will have already agreeded to it. Basicly just don't sue us for infected files.

I have two questions:
1. Should we continue to allow the uploading of exe excutable files (an easy way to distribute viruses)?
2. Will some of you be interested in updating the existing files to fit the new design and standards?

Too expand and give a bit more information on Question 2:
All of the old files entrys don't have the category data in place, as well as the user data. Not to mention that some of them need an updated installer, or to be changed over to be a zip file.

What I'm going to do is create an Archive website, that will be home to all of the old files, but it'll just be a list of files with no User Inteface.
