General / [RC] 3 and 4 team ctf
« on: December 28, 2011, 08:35:56 PM »

So, phobos has made amazing progress  on a mod for RepCom that allows for the addition of the Green and Yellow teams. The programming is nearing completion, but we have a shortage of maps made for three or four teams. We are looking for anyone interested in making a map to support this game mode. Its just like making a normal CTF map. The only thing that is different is when you go to assign teams to flags/spawns in the editor, use 2 for GREEN and 3 for YELLOW.

Here are some screenshots:

Xfire me (tagdanny) or post here for details. Phobos is also working on green and yellow reskins of stuff like the control panels, so xfire me if you would like those aswell.

If you make a dedicated server, and then join a friend through xfire you will be able to play on it. However, no everyone can host. If you are behind a router, you are going to have to forward ports, which basically allows the server traffic from repcom to go in and out of your router's protection.

Does anyone have a download for this map? It was one of my favorite 1v1 maps of all time. Any link would be supper appreciated. If you dont want to upload it, just send it over xfire to me (tagdanny)

Sorry for double post, but now I'm having an issue where if I scroll through the textures, the editor will crash. I searched the forums for a solution, but couldn't find anything (maybe I'm putting in the wrong keywords). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I exit the editor after this happens, the boxes do not come up asking you if you want to save the packages, like when you normally compile something. The editor just closes without anything popping up.

Phobos and I (mostly phobos xD) have started work on a search and destroy mod for republic commando. It will work exactly like the CSS plant/defuse game mode (in theory). I am looking for a mapper who would be willing to make map(s) for us so we can release this mod at its full potential. With the default maps, the only ones that might work would be Hangar or Engine, and even then it would be hard to find a balanced spot to place the two different 'bomb sites'.

Please post here or contact me on xfire (tagdanny) if you would be willing to help out. I will also be making maps, so if you don't want to tackle a whole map on your own, we could make one in collaboration, or if you prefer doing everything, all we ask for is a balanced map that supports two bomb locations, both attacker and defender spawns, and competitive capability.

On a side note, I am having issues compiling script with my editor. Whenever I click the "Compile Changed Scripts" button this box instantly pops up and the progress bar never moves (it is in that position when the box pops up, and it will not progress).

Unreal Engine 2 General Modding Chat / Re: how do i add 3D objects
« on: June 04, 2010, 07:35:39 PM »
If you canty find the item in the static mesh browser, you can go into other maps, selected the meshes, copy them, open your map and paste them. If they are rather unique meshes, make sure to credit the creator of the mp  :D

For the stairs, try selecting them in the non-3d viewing panel. Then Copy them (ctrl+c) and pate them (ctrl+v). You can then move them to where you want. To roate select the stairs and hold down control and right click. Then move the mouse to rotate. It helps if you select one of the colored rings in the 3d view panel to make it so you can only rotate one way. Play around with this until you get used to it.

As for the 3d objects, I belive you are referrnig to static meshes, and these can be found in the static mesh browser. It is the button on the top panel that looks like an arch, the one without the cube and light. Then go through these, selct the one you want, then go into your map, right click, and look for the option that says 'Add saticmeshname' and click it. Instead of staticmeshname it will say the name of ther satic mesh you highlited

A new new gametype has been released. It is called king of the hill. It is fairly simple to play. If your team has atleast one person on the 'hill' your team gets 1 point a second unless there is a person of the other team on the hill. The object of the game is to hold the hill and get to 600 points (300 on lockdown).

We would like to release a custom mappack for this game mode because we think it has alot of potential. If you are a map maker and are interested, hit me up on xfire (tagdanny) or post here.

Thanks =D

Unreal Engine 2 General Modding Chat / New Mod released
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:23:18 PM »
Hey everyone, this is Danny from over at TAG. I would just like to inform you guys that phobos has just developed a new gametype for RC and we are hosting it on my (extremely laggy sorry!) server.

The basic rules are there is one flag carrier that is the 'VIP' and for every second the VIP holds the flag, his or her team gets 1 point. When the VIP is killed, whoever killed them automatically gets the flag and starts scoring for his/her team. The score limit is 600, so that means that you neeed to hold the flag for 10 minutes in total.

Another feature of this mod is that when you type 'accuracy' (without the quotes), it shows you your percent accuracy (shots hit/ shots fired). At the end of the match, if someone has set a new server record for accuracy, it announces it to the whole server

If you have any questions you can contact me on xfire : tagdanny
or phobos on xifre : silentretaliation

I hope you all can enjoy the mod even though it is pretty laggy. TAG is working on getting a professionally hosted server that would have much better ping.

Try running as admin, and if that doesnt work, reinstall the patch
