Yeah I was thinking about doing that as well, but the power of the map is all the moveable props and destroyable glass... So I cancelled working on it until I find a more proper solution.

You'd need a mod for that.
If you make a blue clone by using an added texture you're the only one who can see it blue.
When you replace the texture you won't be able to play online anymore with other people, unless you make a mod for it. Then you can play with other people who also have that mod installed.

my first reaction was like "did he change anything?", but after that I noted it's about twice as deep...?

I can't look it up for you, but I remember experimenting with it a little myself.
Somewhere in their properties, you should be able to switch IsSquadMember, SquadMember or bIsSquadMember to true.
Also switch bCannotDie to true so you can revive them when dead.

This way I once had a Trando in my squad, but when dead he just stood doing nothing, because he had no revive effect ^^
Yet I could revive him.

Ow that's great... Now UnrealEd won't even open anymore...
I also had some trouble with the game itself, so I had to make SecuROM send me a new SWRepublicCommando.exe..... I guess I'll install the game on a computer that works, patch it, and then try to move the whole folder to my Vista computer.

EDIT: Ow that's just great. Now my RC game won't even START =.=
EDIT 2: Reinstalled, the game works now, still the same issues with UnrealEd
EDIT 3: Finally got it to work now. Now I'll continue with my projects like openoffice and order 66 until it crashes again XD

Yeah some of the programs that pop up by default like Steam or Rockstar Social Club. But I had problems opening it before so I did the editing in the UnrealEd.ini to switch bumpmapping of and the other thingy to 0.
So I was happy it started up, but pissed I still couldn't do anythign without it.

Yeah you will probably have trouble making them visible in MP, I could tell as soon as I get my UnrealEd to work. Still it had the problem that it made the map quite laggy, and when placed too many of them some randomly went invisible for clients until shot at.

In singleplayer they are used at various locations, like the chairs in the detention areas from the ghostship, but themakers didn't spam with karmaprops so they are not that easy to find.

I thought I would have enough tim in summer holiday, but I hadn't.
Now I still don't actually, but I really want to get it finished.
I've a new computer now, I will pick it up as soon as I get my UnrealEd working again (weird black viewport bug).

I did the shattering glass effects by converting a brush to a static mesh, and that static mesh to a prop with health and a death effect.
The only problem is that the death effect won't be displayed in multiplayer, though it's still possible to hear sounds.
If someone figures out a way to get it visible in MP, please post it, because that would be completely awesome.

So I've still lits of work to do, but at least I take time I don't have for it now ;)

Hey, I've been away for a while, but I decided to pick up mapping again since I'm doing a game design study now.

After finally getting UnrealEd started up without crashing, I encountered another problem; all my viewports are black, instead of the usual 3 grey grids with topdown, side and frontview, and one with a blue grid. Or purple maybe, who cares, I'm a little colorblind.
I tried numerous things to fix, but none of them helped; it's not the same white screen error you can have, so it can't be fixed by resetting the viewports.
I have no grid, no ortographic projections.

Because I got a little rusty I re-read the tutorial about movement xD, but moving forward and upwards doesn't work anymore. I can still turn left, right up and down and rotate my view.
When I click my left mouse button and drag it forward, I wont move, nor I'll move up or down when pressing both mouse buttons with dragging.
I'm not able to find some sort of configuration interface, though I looked for one.

Does someone here know how to fix these problems? I would be very pleased :D

add symbol in word, select the sign, copy it and paste with ctrl+v when you enter your name ;)

crashes more on vista than on XP? omg.... it crashes enough on XP enough already :O
