The Sandcrawler Mod Version 1 is good to go and for the time being can be downloaded from here.

The features of this mod include:

57 Custom MP Map Files
Custom Character Models/Textures
Weapon Tweaks
SP Map and AI Accuracy Tweaks

This mod runs changed stock files from a unique folder and will not clash with retail files. As such, you will have a Mod Desktop Shortcut to enable quick loading of Sandcrawler Mod Version 1.

Rather than go through the timely process of looking at everyone's maps/map packs individually can you post your suitable maps please?

We'd like to get a number of community maps added but are specifically looking for maps that have game play in mind for a regular 16 man server. Maps should be technically strong without bsp tears or undue misalignment.

I need to get permission and hear what's good to go directly from the modder who made them.

If you have some maps in mind but feel they don't quite cut it technically or for game play then get working on them. This won't be the only map pack for the Sandcrawler Mod and we can update at regular periods.

What about TM Sniper Kitten's maps?

Backwash, Islet, Plateform21 (or whatever it's called), and Lockout should all be in the downloads section, along with his version of Wizard.

Also Sandy's Arena A51 map is nice, as well as a map called Sewerwars (forgot who made it, but it's one of my favorites) also some good maps are Daggers maps like DM/CTF SithTomb, DM/CTF Kamino, DM/CTF SnowSiege, and DM/CTF Broken Bow. :D

In the downloads section you can find MotR Damien's maps : Factory, Dark Depths, and Trench Warfare. They're pretty good maps.

Also Sh4rp's GardenLite Map is pretty good. Arramus, I can't seem to find his CoreShip map in the downloads section, it's a really good map too.

Duaryn15's Day Garden map is pretty nice too in regards to keeping that familiar feel to things. Same with Agoneth's Wetdown map, but his WetDownV2 map is a whole lot better. His xfire is something like emdlfuryoflion or something like that. If you can contact him and ask him about WetdownV2 he'll pass it on and you'll have another awesome map in your collection. :)

Actually you could just contact me on xfire (ultima0weapon or andrew0weapon, though I will be using only the latter one for a month or two) and I can just transfer map files to you.... <.<

Spuz's Forest Corridor I *think* could work for a 16 man server, the map itself is pretty good.

Has anyone looked at Sulified's maps yet? >.>

I haven't excluded any maps from any mapper and decided to repost the request with more specifics in mind. Lots of mappers agree their maps can be used but I don't really have the time to go through each and every map uploaded for every user to see what's suitable or not.

As a matter of courtesy, I'd like to hear directly from the modder who made the maps as to exactly what's suitable.

I'll get a copy of  Facing Worlds.

Do you have a list of what's in each map pack and pikkies relating to them? Or are there any maps you know are specifically suited to game play?

well wetdown causes me to lag even when I am hosting it (with no other players)

my missilebase has been proven to be a fave among many people so that could probobly work
people like DTS HQ, but i honestly think its bad if you want to fight, best for goofing off stuff
space station might be good for 16 players, the map is mainly just one big circle, not many side passages like some of my other stuff

theres also malachor and kamino arena which were designed for fighting, malachor is always fun for those who like stalking people :) and dreadnought makes a good fighting map for 16 players and eldar tomb is mostly untested but it would probobly be good since its a medium sized map
of course, i would tell you to use them all, but most people think my maps are too big (they dont know the fun of stealth, do they :P)

Ahhh Malachor is that scary as shit map with all those pits. Good luck trying to CTF, you had an opening but LOOK OUT! there's a pit in front of the flag! :P :)

I doubt Wetdown v2 would lag you. It's been expanded a little BUT all those excessive SMs and droids and parts lying around are gone I believe.

I've been testing out antiportal zoning in areas where you can't add a zone portal brush but still need to break the map into renderable chunks. It's a good method and may be just what heavy SM type maps need. I'll take a looky.

I opened up Facing Worlds and made a few changes so it plays on the servers.

1. Added MPGame.TDGame to level props.
2. Added a map name and your name to summary.
3. Removed Particles and replaced with smoke (as particles won't show on MP server)
4. Turned all spawnpoints around for one team as they're facing wrong way.
5. Added a space sky box.
6. Increased trench count to 5 each side and replaced small ones for big.
7. Placed playerstarts in trench to lower spawn kills.

Kamino Arena has all the makings of a good battle map. The brushes display overlaps throughout and there are a few unlevel points but if that can be amended it'll make a fine addition.

The spawnpoints are all set to 0 at the moment. Do you want them to remain like that or do you want to specify certain maps for Rep/Trando. I think as they are at the moment Trando will force spawn on a Rep spawnpoint which will make for some random spawning. It's your call.

Would you also like to change the level props name of Trando Cavern from TrandoCavern > Trando Cavern?

If you want these changes made I can do it and name them all with XS to reflect the changes from the original.

I'd like to go with Arena and Goliath as well.

For Arena

1. Changed Player Starts numbers. Some 1s and 0s were misplaced.
2. Doubled texture size to lose some joins and tiling.
3. Lowered lighting height in tunnels a little.
4. Renamed display name to Arena-Exp XS.
5. Added maker's name.

For Goliath

1. Changed Player Start rotations and placements.
2. Edited some terrain for trap points and cover.
3. Scaled terrain textures.
4. Moved central brush over terrain join.
5. Renamed display name to Goliath-Exp XS.
6. Added some extra weps.

Trando Cavern:

1. Added an extra spawnpoint each side.
2. Gave shotgun a respawn time and duplicated for opposing area.
3. Added 4 zone portals.
4. Replaced central APC with health to balance weps.
5. Renamed to Trando Cavern XS.
6. 1 and 0 spawn points for sides.

Glass House:

1. Added extra spawnpoint each side.
2. Balanced APC with DC-17 on other side.
3. Increased spawn time for tick tock bombs.
4. Renamed to Glass House XS
5. 1 and 0 spawn points for sides.

Hallway:

1. Added respawn time to one of the snipers.
2. Changed red to blue illuminated texture on Rep side.
3. Increased spawn time for tick tock bombs.
4. Added extra spawnpoint each side.
5. Added shotty.
6. Added subtle blue/red lighting to zones.
7. Renamed to Hallway XS.

Thanks i wouldve made some of those changes in the first build...but yeah i was lazy and just wanted to release it....kinda like EA and BF2 patches eh? :wink:

I'd like to get a little something from a number of modders and it all depends on how quickly maps can be made server ready. We'll see how it goes over the next few days and if nothing's coming we can release this pack now and release an update later.

If you already have some of these maps they will just be over written when installed. A fair numner are receiving updates though so there'll be some improvements and tweaks that nobody has seen yet.

ok I want some maps from TX for the tx server and I have a map to give you (it is called square) it has a 0 seconds between death and spawn and weapons don't respawn and it is a very small cube area (good for intense battles and I also want DM_Carnage, and I have another map dm_goldedition (it has a glitch were  a bowcaster can be found behind one of the meshes) and arrumus I don't know how to post files so arrumus can you get on xfire and I'll send them to you

I really need the guys who made these maps to post if they want them added to the map pack. Before adding the maps I like to check them in the editor to make sure amongst other stuff that spawnpoints are set properly, respawn times are correct, weapons are even and brushes don't create tears.

Added an edited version of Spuzz's Forest Corridor. It has a circuit loop with two connecting corridors and will fare well in TDM.

unfornately I dont have unrealed on my computer anymore and for some reason it won't allow me to uninstall it, it wasnt able to figure out why it did that, can you or someone else with more experience than me look at it and fix it if you can?

Thanks. That'll bring us over the 50 custom map count and I'll release the first build to the public. Other modders who are still fixing up their maps, didn't respond to this request or have MIPs can always add to the next pack update.

When you run the installation application it will install everything for you at one time. It doesn't replace your regular files at all as it makes a new unique mod folder.

Simply click on the Desktop Shortcut it adds and you can join a server running the mod that way.

my computer is running a liitle (very small) slower, but I want a higher ping on all servers, when I click join game on internet, it sometimes says No Servers Found. I would like to know if I can save any maps on a thumb drive and use it when I am playing. Also I would like to know if there is anything wrong if this happens, and should I re-install the gamespy thing

You want a lower ping server and the server list for SWRC is commonly buggy. It's been like that since the beginning and needs some serious netcoding repairs.

I don't think you should attempt to run maps from a thumb drive as it's probably pretty slow at transferring data quick enough. You'd also need to change some RC .ini files to tell it where to look for your maps.
