Kinda working on the RC Idea in UDK for now. Below are some pics and a link to video of a droid test for it. Not much at the moment though. Back to working full time so my mapping time has been slashed by 60%  :( Anyways, heres the footage:

I recently bought Blacklight: Tango Down on Steam and I have to say it's a blast. Fast action, upgrades as you rank up, something like seven different multiplayer types, and four very tough single player/coop missions. What makes the sp missions so tough is there is no room for error. You dont have save points or respawns, you get dropped and it's time to restart.
There are some things I could go without, like having to log into windows live, the occasional server migration (which is rare but annoying), and the ever present 'nade bin camper that just tosses gernades and reloads them no stop. Other than that it's a really fun game and and if you can afford the 15 dollars I'd say snatch it. Heres some screens of the game:

These things are the dumbest, most blown out, and fabricated crap on the web. Some jerk with photoshop makes a fake cover, says his "good friend" that he plays with on the xbox says he seen the trailer, and yet fails to provide proof. I searched the LA archives (back to 2005 mind you) not a single mention of a sequel. Please people, the only new content for this game is gonna come from modders like those on these forums. Anything else is a pipedream. Rant off...  >:(

While working on thismap that I am never happy with, I decided to use plate glass for some of the doors. This looks really cool but I wondered, how in god's name would you weld them? I like my maps to have some realism to them, so I looked for the answer and best I can come up with is welding the track or hinges that hold them. Just a random thought, but anyone else think this would be the correct answer. Because I know when I get this map uploaded (sometime in 2012 -.-) some idiot is gonna ask, How can you weld glass doors... :roll:

I have found this site while looking for new textures: //http://www.cgtextures.com/ It has a wealth of textures that can be used in any map. All that needs to be done is importing the texture to your map, See Tutorials if you dont know how. You can get the thumbnails themselves and convert them to your needs, or register and get them at much larger sizes than needed. I'd only register to get the sky images for skyzones and such myself. Hope this helps anyone wanting to add new tones and flavor to their maps. ;)

The Pit is a safehaven for the elite of London's Industry, or at least they thought so. Now, theres no communication with the security force attached to the bunker. Guess who's team just got volunteered to rescue the richest people in London...


This guy was found to be stealing from the rich folks. He was made an example...

On the serious side, this is going to have multiple levels, lots of spawn points, and plenty of carnage to offer when finished. 8-)

LMAO! I seen a youtube video of this. The host swears that his friend that works at Lucasarts said they were doing this. Um, no. Sorry to say that SWRC2 is not, will not, never was gonna see the light of day. Lucasarts has no intention or has not stated anything in regards to a sequel (and I check the site pretty regularly), because they are hell bent on the SWTOR mmo that is being developed at bioware. So sorry to crush your heart with a force choke but it isn't happening unless some modders get together and make it themselves. :roll:

Maps in Progress / MiP- Site Epsilon

Horzine had a backup plan, as most facilities do, in case anything happened at the home facility. Site Epsilon was established in a sleepy little town in the north of England. Six days after the London Outbreak, all contact was lost withthe hamlet. Now an advanced team has been sent to investigate the area. This MiP is the first in a series that I have planned. Don't expect anything quickly, I have to relearn Unreal  :( . I'll post screenies sometime later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm considering making an original mod and I was looking for help. Primarily gonna need a coder, a couple of level designers, and a modeler or two. Anyone that is curious just post here. Thanks. :oops:

The spaceport interior is pretty much open cylinder. The actual spaceport halls vary from planet to planet but all have a similar setup. I'll edit this post as I get more screens for it. For now here is a shot from the main tarmac, including the Corellian Shuttle that is based there. :wink:

I discussed this with Arramus very early this morning and we both thought it was a good idea. I got the idea while playing SWG. Sandy and I were discussing the possibilities of using the SWG cities and sites as reference for RC. After talking with Arramus about it I decided to open this forum so that we could put screenshots of some of the geometry, as well as some map reference sites here.
I think it will help with getting out a whole new line of maps for RC and help with the map development for First Strike.

Maps in Progress / [RC] Search For Sev SP missions

I started back on the Search for Sev set. The second one continues the mission on Ord Mantell, or should I say in it. It'll be a quick mission inside a cavern. Lots of Lava flows and other things to watch for. Once again, the commandos find a clue to the location of their missing brother. The following is a listing of the missions planned for the series:

OMT_01A ORD MANTELL SURFACE (COMPLETED)
OMT_01B ORD MANTELL CAVERN (Beta)
COR_01A CORELLIA SMUGGLER OUTPOST (PLANNING STAGES)
DAN_01A DANTOOINE COMMAND CENTER (PLANNING STAGES)


These are just the four missions for finding Sev, and something else that will make everyone take a side so to speak. Depending on how well the community continues to grow, will decide if I'll work on further missions. The four listed may expand as new ideas come along. Projects / RC Coop?

This is what I've been fighting with for a while. I can add the AI to the maps but when you run them they fight with one another and totally ignore you. I am looking into the UE scripting areas now, to see if there may be some way to bypass this little problem. If so, we could possibly get them coded to see the player as the enemy only. Yes, DooFi says that the coding is screwed but I want to give it one last try. :P  In F.E.A.R., they took the config and ini files and rewrote them to fit their needs. IDK if this is possible with RC, but I'll keep trying.  :wink:

This will be the last Outpost 31 map. I was gonna do it before F.E.A.R. came out, but never did. It will be both interior and exterior, with lots of room to have some great fights. No screenshots as yet, as I'm trying some new things out. :twisted:

Okay, this is the first RC map I've tried to make for over a year or so. The last one was the SP map of Ord Mantell. So I'm gonna take it kinda slow. I added some terrain, unplayable as it's just for background. It'll be an interior area for DM/TDM. Heres a screen of the bay entry to the outside, thats about all I have for now. :oops:



I snagged the Death Star from Ep. 3, it turned out pretty good in game. Could probably loose some of it's opacity though. :?

I posted this in another topic, but thought it could probably go good on it's own. I found that site for the free SW Models. Modeling / Maya and Pixologic's Zbrush

I'm currently trying to make some new models for the game using these two programs. If anyone has any special requests, let me know and give me a pic of it. A blueprint of the front side and back would be perfect. Unreal has released the link for the maya plugin and I'm using 6.0. In theory it should import just fine. I seen a website where you could download 3d Max prefabs of Imperial/Republic vehicles, but I cant remember what it was. If I find it again, maybe we can start putting some of these vehicles in our maps :D .
