Seeing as how posting a single topic for each of these would be horribly wasteful, I'd like to link you all to some maps I have made since I got started in this horribly rigid game known as RC. Forgive me for not keeping up with this forum recently, but clan matters have reigned supreme for the past couple months.

In chronological order, beginning with my oldest:

Vertical Horizon - //http://files.filefront.com/CTF_Verticalexe_Installer/;5282812;;/fileinfo.html

A small CTF map suitable for anywhere from 4 to 10 players. In hindsight the design is too cramped, but the tactical possibilities for routes to and from the flag are well laid out and the lighting creates a good illusion - like playing Arena in the dark :) Features include secret defensive barriers activated from a silent and blind trigger within the base, and multiple attack and defense routes tailored specifically for play styles.

Core -
//http://files.filefront.com/DM_Coreexe_Installer/;5282859;;/fileinfo.html

A very small Deathmatch map suitable for 2, 3, or possibly 4 players, and no more. A fun play. Features include a destructible fuel tank causing damage to players near it, a small area of low gravity, and a path to an Anti-Armor weapon that can be severed by errant (or intentional!) weapons fire.

Snowsiege - //http://files.filefront.com/CTF_SnowSiegeexe_Installer/;5282798;;/fileinfo.html

A medium-large sized CTF map suitable for 8 to 16 players. Set on a frozen wasteland between two Republic and Confederate bases cut off from supplies during the war. The poorly equipped combatants slowly froze to death, often remaining in a frozen fossilized state due to the wind shear and cold air of the region, with both Republic soldiers and Geonosian warriors often spending their last breath engaged in bloody combat with one another. Features include frozen battle scenes between Republic and Geonosian forces, an elaborate tunnel system, and cover in the field including a broken Geonosian wing and a makeshift field energy shield made from two modified Geonosian staffs stabbed into the body of a clone trooper.This one got tremendous reviews when it came out and has continued to be very popular.

Broken Bow -
//http://files.filefront.com/CTF_BrokenBowexe_Installer/;5057786;;/fileinfo.html

A large-sized CTF map suitable for 12 to 24 players. Set atop a supply bridge spanning a canyon on Geonosis. Features include discrete side paths across rocky ledges, numerous destructible and damaging objects, and a 'funneling' flag path system that encourages teamwork and cooperation to bring home a capture.

Harboring bitter hatred for both sides in the war - the Confederacy who enslaved them and put them to work in their droid foundries, and the Republic who viciously slaughtered them and in turn took their labor abilities for themselves, the Geonosians have hatched a devious plan to lure the opposing sides into an ambush on this bridge. Leaking intel to both sides - grandiose tales of long-lost ammunition and weapon caches - they dispatch a small remnant of their militia forces to strategic points across the bridge to intercept 'recovery teams' tring to capitalize on this new information. Being driven to the disgrace of using the primitive weapons from the corpses of those they slay, they show no mercy and take no prisoners among the two forces they draw into their web of revenge...

Kamino Platform A2217
//http://files.filefront.com/DM_Kaminoexe_Installer/;5282843;;/fileinfo.html

A medium-sized Deathmatch map suitable for 6 to 16 players and my most recent release. Set at a utility and auxilary cloning platform on Kamino. Features include a large tunnel system with a retractable service bridge, tremendous outdoor scenery including visor rain effects, a one-way tunneling system hidden in the base, several living Trandoshan npcs within the interior of the platform, and numerous scenes of bloody Trandoshan brutality and chaos within the platform.

Day 518 - Clone Wars -
At 0322 Hours the Confederacy made one of its boldest moves of the war. After engaging in multiple diversionary strikes on the edge of Republic space, a massive wave of over 200 Trandoshan dropships was able, with only a small escort, to punch through the defensive fighter screen of Kamino and enter the atmosphere. Fortunately for the Republic, the intense atmospheric storms and superior orbital weaponry on Kamino claimed a vast majority of the ships before they could land, and only two were able to complete their landing cycles. Unfortunately for the Republic, the two that survived could not have landed in a worse spot. Platform A2217 - a utility platform containing medical facilities, a small cloning operation working at only half capacity, and a heavy cargo and resupplying depot. More importantly, the platform was also the location of a brief inspection by Jedi Master Yoda that was interrupted by the siege. The green, scaly hurricane that washed up among the waves of Kamino on A2217 tore through the garrison on the platform quickly and ruthlessly. Within 5 minutes every human on the platform was dead or dying, and scenes of Trandoshan brutality abound in the trashed remains of the platform.

Master Yoda was quickly pinned down by the overwhelming numbers inside a cloning chamber. Not willing to risk the life of one of their most powerful Jedi Masters in the face of numerous Trandoshan warriors with repeating weapons, the orders passed down from High Command were simply for him to stay put and await extraction.

As a precaution when the siege was first reported on A2217, all of the umbilical-cord-like connectors leading in or out of the platform were severed to prevent the problem from spreading. Now, one of them opens back up to deliver cargo to A2217. This cargo? A small group of the Republic's finest, Clone Commandos, with a simple set of tasks: Kill anything on the platform green and taller than one meter, rescue the Jedi Master, and above all, take back their home.

You can also get a pretty good look at a T-Bone Steak by sticking your hand up a cow's ass - but die Meinung des Metzgers is plenty for me ;)

lool. Come on, how lazy can one be not to make at least 3 small screens per map? :P

Dagger

#6
How lazy can one be to not just download the maps and check them out for yourself? ;)

In truth this is probably much easier than posting screens for the maps, what with capturing the images, saving them, uploading them, linking to them, etc :P

you created a map. uploading and linking screens is nothing in contrast to building maps :P im sure u're capable of that. and anyways, it's the best promotion^^

Dagger

Good point. Maybe I'll throw some screens up later if I have a spare moment, but download em in the meantime :P

Vertical Horizon
Layout looks fairly cool, but you really gotta improve the lighting and some more SMs would be nice. It looks pretty low-detailed ;) Could be fun ingame nevertheless, since the floorplan looks nice to me!

Core
Looks fine. Prolly itz could use some more detail (Trims!) And give more variaty to the lighting and textures.

Snowsiege
Again fairly low-detailed. Lighting is monotonous and the (especially the wall-)textures are too big.

Broken Bow
umm, kinda confusing^^, gotta lok at it ingame / in UED.

Kamino Platform A2217
The indoors look nice, except for the blood stains lol. Outdoors are, well, not so easy on the eyes^^

The lighting looks funny because it's realistic, which is something that is not a common thing for Republic Commando maps. I don't use zonelighting when there is no need to, and my light comes from light sources. 99% of maps do not do this :P

lol i cant count how many times i told ppl not to use zone lights^^
but just because u didnt zone-lit it, it's not realistic :P And i prefer maps that seem realistic, there's no need to make actually sense as long as it looks like making sense^^
