This is the most extensive place I found to learn about blender. http://www.blendercookie.com/2010/06/15/tip-adding-multiple-materials-to-a-single-object/ Using the tutorials on this site I was able to make things like these below. They also have free stuff on the site that you can download and use for whatever or as reference .

I just checked blender 2.53 (newest version) and here are in the import and export formats allowed.
Imports: dae, 3ds, buh, obj, mdd
Exports: dae, 3ds, fbx, mdd, obj, ply, x3d

This is from the newest version that I'm using right now. I checked and haven't found any ase plugins for 2.53 that have been made yet. Someone made mention of an ase importer but it's still quite unstable and they are working on it.

You will more than likely need the Actor X plugin for Wings if they have one. That will allow you to export your mesh as a .pse/psk file. If you want the models for RC then that is what you will need. Also to note, fbx files are not program interchangeable. So if you export a file from wings as fbx, you cannot import it to any other program. For that matter once it's exported I think it's done with editing altogether. Blender, 3dMax, Maya, and Wings are all capable of exporting obj files but like fbx can not be imported to other programs except Zbrush. This goes for 3ds files as well.

convert the mesh to a brush and then apply blocking volume to brush. I did that with the SPHAT in Anchorhead. Otherwise you'll never get it to fit properly. You may have to replace the model after, I can't remember for sure

I'll no longer be posting information on this topic in these forums. Double the posts for two areas and I'd like to concentrate more on the actual Cyguard Postings. For further updates and discussion you can hit me up at the all around games forums. They can be found http://allaroundgames.net/forum/index.php Hope to see you guys there soon  ;)

Not yet, I've been off and on for the last week. Having some rl issues that need attention. Sorry I wasn't able to get anything up on the blog as well. Gonna try again this weekend sometime. Also, if you are using blender which version? 2.5 has gone beta and I was messing with it last night. They revamped a lot of the interfaces and made some changes to a few key bindings. You may also want to check into blenderguru.com. He has a few tutorials and the one for his high rise apartment is very in depth. He also has a mazda rx-8 you can download and check out in blender as well.

Quotethat is obviously the oldest UED bug of all times. Did you search the forums for white viewports or the like? If so, we'll put together a small FAQ^^

Regarding your problem:
Nobody knows (at least nobody I know knows lol) why it happens, but sometimes UED just deletes all the viewports.. Its not fatal, but sometimes nerved lol. To make the viewports appear again, click on "View -> Viewports -> Configure..." and select a new viewport-layout. You will notice you can even customize the layout a bit, if you're not happy with the standard one lol. Also "View -> Viewports -> Fixed / Floating" is a nice feature

EDIT: yeah, that happens when you click the "post reply" button and then go downstairs for half an hour .. Anyways, the "Hard Way" is pretty much superfluous for this problem

Been around for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Just use the search at the top of the forums and almost all things shall become clear.

Theta has the right idea for RC2. If you found enough people that were willing to make a RC2 mod then you would have your sequel. Although it couldn't be sold, there could in fact be a small chance that LA would decide to publish it and give credit to the development team for making it. Of course, you could just make the mod and release it on Steam as a free download. Updates for Cyguard will be posted on the AAG website monday.

Every few months or so this guy puts something on Youtube about RC2. Last one was a video stating RC2 would be out Jully 2010, er right now. The one before that was him stating that LA was making it, he received the tip from a friend that works at LA  :o Now understand, I would love to see this done. However, the chances of LA making a sequel to RC is about as good as Lucas making three more movies. Signing a petition is great, it's worked well for the bug fix petition that was made when steam began releasing RC on it. Simple fact of the matter is, they don't give a **** what the players/fans want. If this is crushing your dreams I am sorry, but thats the reality of it. I really wish this 14 yo would stop causing a ruckuss every six or so months. And fyi it is the same guy I posted about in this topic http://sandcrawler.net/forums/index.php?topic=1067.msg5367#msg5367  He's deleted the video I believe but it is the same kid. :(

Heh, I'm still learning to make them myself. The models shown here were made with blender, which is an open source modeling tool. Wings is as well and I believe Sandcrawler is using it. I could probably make a tutorial, but for blender I'd suggest this site:http://montagestudio.org/home/ Jonathan Williamson is the one that seems to do the best tutorials and I've picked up on things in blender by watching his tuts (attempting character models now :-\ ) I'd check it out if you have any interest in making models.

The storyline is old, I mean like 1991 old. Thats when I first came up with Cyguard as a comic book format. Who would had thought the comic book craze would implode just a couple of years later. So this thing has been setting since around '98-'99. With the UDK release it seemed like a no brainer to convert it into a game. With the talent that is around nowadays, its very exciting for me as a creator to be doing this.

Single Player Level Design / Re: sp mapping help!!

Never attempted it in mp map, but as the triggr isn't tied to anything I wouldn't see why it can't work there as well.
