Maps in Progress / MIP: Guardian Command
September 06, 2006, 04:49:02 PM
Okay, this is the first RC map I've tried to make for over a year or so. The last one was the SP map of Ord Mantell. So I'm gonna take it kinda slow. I added some terrain, unplayable as it's just for background. It'll be an interior area for DM/TDM. Heres a screen of the bay entry to the outside, thats about all I have for now.

I snagged the Death Star from Ep. 3, it turned out pretty good in game. Could probably loose some of it's opacity though. :?

There may be a few flaws in your plan man. First off, unless you have the money to buy the copyright from LucasArts, you have little to no chance of copy rights to anything. Secondly, the scripting can only go so far unless you intend to copy it and then rebuild it to your design, see copy right again, not to mention your end user agreement for the game. It specificly says you agree not to retro-engineer the game for any reason. The third and probably worst of these would be for you to properly do it, you'd have to purchase your own version of the Unreal engine, which at last look cost around $6000.00 dollars. You could always use the runtime demo from Unreal but, again, it is for educational use and not for official development. Good luck.

Probably because most of us dont concern ourselves with every single gaming site in the known universe. Never seen it before, and after following the link, will probably never see it again.

I posted this in another topic, but thought it could probably go good on it's own. I found that site for the free SW Models. Heres the link, http://www.3dtotal.com look under free stuff/models for all the goodies. You could even throw a couple of Abrams into a map as well   . Heres a few screenshots to make your mouth water:

Not sure if they can be used, but I would love to try.

Modeling / Maya and Pixologic's Zbrush
September 05, 2006, 01:37:25 PM
I'm currently trying to make some new models for the game using these two programs. If anyone has any special requests, let me know and give me a pic of it. A blueprint of the front side and back would be perfect. Unreal has released the link for the maya plugin and I'm using 6.0. In theory it should import just fine. I seen a website where you could download 3d Max prefabs of Imperial/Republic vehicles, but I cant remember what it was. If I find it again, maybe we can start putting some of these vehicles in our maps :D .

HI GUYS! I'm back in the scene so expect to see me around here a little more. Nice to see the site still up and running. Looks great too. Sandy and Shrike should be proud of themselves for the amount of dedication they've given. Talk to you all later.
