Updating original post to include our newest gaming divisions and servers.

Utengineer, when you said that guys use female aliases, it made me question a lot... What if my friends that are ''girls'' are really guys trying to trick me!?!?  :-\ ??? Is your clan just gamers or do you guys mod? If you mod I'll join, thx :D .

I think there are a lot of guys out there that play with female names to get attention.  I do not pay attention to them much, as I try to play more than chat. 

MotR is a gaming clan founded on Republic Commando, but we recently opened up a CODBO and BC2 division.  We used to have a really good map developer, Dagger, but he is long gone from being active.  Currently we have one member that made a map recently, Reborn.  If you did get accepted in MotR, you would be a good asset to me.  I have a project I would like someone to take for me.  MotR has a 32 man server and a couple private RepCom servers.  I want to make a set of maps that would represent MotR's base, environment and provide areas for members to film movie shorts on.  You are welcome to apply, it is a selective process though.  Once you get to the home page of the forums, just look for the Join Us image to complete your application.

BTW-  I just posted in our Media forum a link to a RepCom II mod.  I haven;t tried it yet, but would be interested in reviews.

I updated this thread to show our clan server banner from GameTracker.  They don't have an RC banner, so I used the Unreal Tournament 2004 banner, and it worked!

Hello all and old friends!
I just wanted everyone to know MotR is alive and kicking still.  Most of you know we mainly played RepCom, so when the game got old, MotR sort of dropped off.  I have returned to get MotR active again and re-skinned the entire website.  If you like clone graphics, please check out the site.  I did most of the design from the ground up.

Hey all!

I understand there is an admin patch available.  From what I hear, this patch allows you to kick, ban, and modify some of the weapon properties as well.  I am looking for more details on this.

I am not so much interested in modifying the weapon properties, but preventing players from weapon spawning, which lead to server crashes.  Also, I would like to have kick and ban capablities.

So please give me the scoop or point me in the right direction.

Why should we be able to kick/ban?

1.  Server Crashes.....somebody logs into the server and starts to spawn weapons.  The excessive amount of weapons being placed on the map causes lag for EVERYONE on the server.  The server's processor starts to work harder than it should to maintain the extra weapon spawns and the server crashes.

Thus everyone is denied the lag-free pleasure of playing on a leased dedicated public server since these weapon spawners are intentionally crashing the server every minute or so.

2.  Teamkillers....even when the settings are friendly fire 0%, a player can teamkill by suiciding with a thermal detonator next to another player.  Teamkilling prevents the other gamers from defending their base effectively and lowers the overall team score in TDM.

Why this should be illegal and supported for all server admins?

1.  Public servers are leased.  Server leases cost money.  People that spend THEIR hard-earned money are usually fun-loving gamers that want to provide a public arena for good, quality gaming.  Should someone spend their money on a service that provides benefits to the public just to have the server crash and lag-out every minute or so.....I think not.

2.  Rights.....what gives another person the right to crash a public game server.  Anyone with half a brain can figure out the weapon spawn code.  These spawners are violating the rights of the public to congregate and play peacefully.

In the end, Lucas Arts should have allowed access to the dedicated server admin functions available in the unreal gaming engine.  Plus, nobody to date, has made a successfull mod to provide some sort of protection in this matter.
