DM_Unnamedarena - First Look =P

I started this a month or two ago, and never knew what I wanted to do with it until today.



Half the map ahs yet to be textures, and none of them are lined up right, but thats the basic layout, by the time it goes final the SM's in the middle will probably triple. There will be some hidden areas, but not alot because its ment to be even =P

There will be both DM and CTF of this map, like all my other arena type maps.

Any ideas for names from the one editor screenshot you have seen? =D

not a clue, but all those boxes O.o that could lag the level up a bit couldn't it?

It could, but it is highly unlikely, because of how SM work. The data is stored on your graphics card, and redrawn, there are four types of boxes there, that will be real easy for for a graphics card.

I soubt there will be anymore boxes then what was in Windslasher: Cargo Bay and I have never heard of lag issues on it.

Is that a ramp running through the central area with the cyclinder. It's a hard one to name at the moment. I'll watch as you add textures and detail.

you could call it Cy-path or Dump Pit

I resumed working on this today, I finished the pit, and added another passage way. I also finished applying textuires, hopefuly later I will get a chance to finish aligning the textures so I can move onto lighting...I will post new SS's when the lighting is finished.

Hmm = How do I light up a static Mesh?...or make directional lights? I'm trying to do a sort of light bar look, but I can't get the lights to cast on the SM like I want and I can't get the SM to light up at all...even if I could make the surface unlit would work, but it wont keep it when I make it inot a SM...

Anyone got any ideas?

u can edit the ambient glow in display properties, or make the static mesh unlit, but this only helps with white lighting, other than that you can go into the pawn menu thing and select spotlight, having several spotlights that do nothing but light up this SM

This is on hold once again...I'm tired of doing the same old shit...arena, this isn't much diffrent the my other ones...I have started a new project though.

I might come back and finish this one after.

Haha changed my mind already, I'm doing this, and I have some new Eye Candy for everyone.

The temporary name for this is Waste Factory, until somebody comes up with a better name. As you can see it is mostly empty, I have a few hidden suprises for everyone =)...not the hidden room either, yet anyways. Its coming along now, if I can keep working on it like I have gotten too thne it may be done by christmas =).
